Marissa Kendall

Graduate Student Intern, Therapist

I believe in the power of feeling seen and supported. Everyone has the potential for growth; often, what's needed is a nurturing environment where you feel acknowledged and understood. Creating space that allows personal growth and self-discovery is what I strive to provide as a therapist.

My own journey in therapy and the powerful transformation I experienced led me to pursue a master’s in Mental Health Counseling. My therapeutic method draws from the foundational principles of Internal Family Systems and Person-Centered therapy. I focus on assisting clients in understanding and harmonizing different aspects of themselves as well as fostering self-compassion. I place a strong emphasis on cultivating a non-judgmental space, allowing clients to explore their challenges at their own pace.

I believe that within each of us, there are no inherently bad parts. When we accept this, we are able to be more compassionate and kind to ourselves, which allows for growth and change. I see my role as helping people connect with themselves more deeply through learning to be compassionate and accepting of every part of themself.

I use pronouns she/her. When I’m not working or doing homework I enjoy creating jewelry, spending time outside with my dog, and trying out new coffee shops.
