Kathleen Peters
Graduate Student Intern, Therapist
Often when we’re stuck, we feel as if we’ve run out of options; we don’t know how to move forward. Maybe you’re tired of living this way and you’re ready for things to be different. First of all, I want to commend you. Just by the fact you are here looking for a counselor, I want to acknowledge the amount of courage and energy that took. This says much about how ready you are for a change, and it makes me genuinely excited to work with you.
Sometimes we’re too close to our own challenges to see what is getting in our way. This is where I can be helpful. Drawing from over three decades of people helping experience and supporting individuals through trauma, grief, and faith challenges, I will bring compassion and care to our sessions. My aim is to come alongside you in collaboration, assisting you as you navigate your own unique journey – YOU are the expert in your own story.
As we navigate this journey, my desire is to bring the best of myself to your growth and healing. I am currently studying under grief expert Megan Devine to obtain a Grief Care Professional Certificate. I've also had the privilege of sharing my insights through professional speaking engagements and the creation of a self-help workbook. Due to my love of humans going through their teen years, I obtained my bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education.
I use pronouns she/her. I have been married 30 years and am the mom to two delightful grown men in their 20’s. When not at the counseling office, you can find me puttering around my yard, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, or throwing an endless supply of red tennis balls to my dog, Murphy.
