Josiah Biles

Graduate Student Intern, Therapist

The number one indicator of success in therapy is the strength of the client-therapist relationship. I believe therapy is about creating space and building trust so a client and therapist can work together to shine light on and bring insight to whatever issues are brought into the counseling room.  I want to help clients build hope in the possibility of change, which often comes through identifying and tapping into the personal, communal, and spiritual resources they already possess. I work from an Emotionally Focused perspective and believe our emotions give us valuable insights into our lives, and when related to properly provide a foundation for living an integrated life.

We all long for wholeness, but so often we feel fragmented, anxious, and disconnected from ourselves and others. Therapy is a space we can hit pause together and relationally work towards becoming more integrated people with deeper reserves of hope and resilience.

If I am not at school, you can find me chasing my toddler on his bike, training for my next road race, or making sourdough bread and watching the Office with my wife.
